Helping Small Businesses Work Smarter
Many small businesses are doing more manual work than they realize. We help them see it, and fix it.
Solve the right problem first.
Beck Strategic Advisory helps small and mid-sized businesses solve the right problem first. We work with owners and operators across multiple industries, listening closely, asking better questions, and helping you solve what matters for your business. No fluff. No filler. Just good thinking, practical systems, and the AI fluency to put new tools to work where they'll actually be useful. Thoughtful, grounded, and built to make a real difference.

These are the challenges I hear most often from small business owners.
Your Data Lives in Different Places
Customer information, operations data, analytics. They're each in their own system, but they're not connected. Valuable insights exist across those sources, but accessing them requires more effort than it should.
Your Team Spends Time on Repetitive Work
Hours moving data between systems. Tasks that are predictable and routine. Work that feels like it should be automated, but you're not sure where to start.
You Need More Capacity Without More Headcount
The workload is growing, but adding staff may not be the right solution. You're looking for ways to accomplish more with the team you have.
You See the Potential in AI. You Just Need a Clear Path.
You've heard about what AI can do. You're curious. But with so many options and so much noise, it's hard to know where to begin, or what makes sense for your business.
Solve the Right Problem. Then Build.
Every engagement starts by making sure we understand the real challenge — not just the symptom.
Discovery Call
We talk about your business, your goals, and where you'd like to improve efficiency. A relaxed conversation about what's possible. No obligations.
Assessment & Scoping
We dive into your current setup. Where's your data? What systems do you use? What's the real cost of your manual processes? We map the opportunities and build a realistic plan.
Build & Implement
We build the solution — agent, workflow, or tool — that addresses what we uncovered. You're involved the whole way. Your team learns how to use it. Optional retainer for ongoing support.
How We Can Work Together
Every engagement starts with a conversation. We discuss your business, I listen carefully, and together we identify what's creating friction, whether that's a strategic challenge or a recurring task that quietly consumes more time than it should.
AI Readiness Assessment
Not sure where to start? That's exactly where most people are.
We assess your operations, identify realistic opportunities, and build a plan that makes sense for your business.
What we cover:
- Current workflows and pain points
- Where AI fits (and where it doesn't)
- Prioritized opportunities with projected ROI
Right for you if: You're curious about AI and want a clear, honest assessment of where it can help.

Process Improvement
Sometimes the challenge isn't technology — it's the process.
We look at how work actually flows, find the friction, and fix it. Sometimes that means automation. Sometimes it's just a cleaner workflow.
What this looks like:
- Mapping how work moves through your team
- Identifying bottlenecks and redundancies
- Redesigning workflows that make sense
Right for you if: Your team spends too much time on things that should be easier.
4–8 weeks | Project-based
Operational Quick Wins
Not everything requires a large engagement.
Sometimes the highest-impact work is a focused fix: the kind of issue that surfaces in a passing comment during conversation.
Examples:
- A certification tracker replacing scattered spreadsheets
- An automated report that used to take 4 hours
- A simple integration between disconnected systems
Right for you if: There's a specific inefficiency you've identified but haven't had time to address.
Days to weeks | Focused scope, meaningful impact
Solution Design & Oversight
You shouldn't have to become a technical expert to get the right thing built.
For larger projects, I handle the strategy, scoping, and coordination so you don't have to. I translate business needs into technical requirements, bring in the right engineering partners, and stay involved through delivery to make sure what gets built is what you actually needed.
What's included:
- Solution scoping and technical requirements
- Developer and vendor evaluation
- Project oversight and quality assurance
- Honest budget guidance so you're never oversold
Right for you if: You have a bigger project that needs technical expertise, but you want someone in your corner making sure the right thing gets built the right way.
Varies by scope | Project-based
Change Management & Adoption
The best tool in the world doesn't help if nobody uses it.
New technology only creates value when your team actually adopts it. Whether it's AI tools, a new CRM, a platform migration, or a workflow overhaul, the hardest part isn't the technology. It's the transition. I help teams move from "we have this new thing" to "this is how we work now" — with clear internal communications, practical training coordination, and a rollout plan that meets people where they are.
What's covered:
- Internal communications strategy that reduces resistance, not creates it
- Stakeholder alignment so leadership and teams are on the same page
- Training coordination and support through the learning curve
- Rollout planning that's phased, realistic, and doesn't assume everyone adapts at the same speed
- Adoption tracking so you know what's working and what needs attention
Right for you if: You've invested in new technology and need help getting your team to actually embrace and use it. Or you're planning a rollout and want to get the people side right from the start.

What This Looks Like
A few examples of the kinds of challenges we take on.
Marketing Spend Visibility
A business running campaigns across Google Ads, Meta, and email wanted a unified view of performance across multiple data sources.
We built a dashboard that connects spend to results by channel and campaign, giving leadership a single place to see what's working.
Clear, real-time view of marketing ROI. Confident decisions on where to invest.
Credential Tracking System
A company with a distributed workforce wanted a faster, simpler way to manage employee certifications, all in one place.
We built an automated tracking system with expiration alerts and audit-ready reporting across the entire organization.
Streamlined tracking. Real-time compliance visibility. Always audit-ready.
Ad Budget Optimization Tool
A service business wanted to understand the relationship between ad spend and customer inquiries before committing to a larger budget.
We built a simple modeling tool that lets them test different spend scenarios and see projected outcomes, helping them invest with confidence.
Data-informed budget decisions. No more guessing.

About Tanya Beck
I spent nearly 30 years in corporate marketing and communications roles, working alongside some incredibly intelligent people and learning from leaders who shaped how I think about strategy and execution. That experience was invaluable. But as I progressed, I found myself more drawn to a different kind of impact: helping small companies solve real problems.
That realization led me to deepen my education. I completed an AI Business Strategy certification through Kellogg School of Management, Executive Education and I'm currently working through an AI-immersed MBA, to better understand how to bring these tools to small business owners in a practical, accessible way. The goal was never to become an "AI consultant," it was to sharpen what I've always loved doing: finding a better way. A cleaner process. A smarter system. Less friction.
That's Beck Strategic Advisory. Solve the right problem first — then build the right solution.
Common Questions
What small business owners ask before we work together.
What does AI consulting actually mean for a small business?
It means finding specific, practical ways to use AI tools in your business — not theoretical possibilities. We look at where you're spending time on repetitive work, where your data isn't connected, and where AI can genuinely help. Then we build it. It always starts the same way: making sure we're solving the right problem first.
How much does this cost?
Every engagement starts with a conversation. We talk through what you're trying to solve, I assess the scope, and you get a clear, fixed quote before any work begins. No hourly billing, no surprises.
Do I need technical skills to work with you?
No. My job is to handle the technical side so you don't have to. You'll understand what we're building and why, but you won't need to write code or manage systems.
What industries do you specialize in?
I work with small businesses across industries. The specific sector matters less than the challenge: if your team is managing manual processes, juggling disconnected systems, or spending time on work that should be easier, I'd be glad to connect.
Are you based in Birmingham? Do you work remotely?
I'm based in Birmingham, Alabama, and work with clients locally and nationwide. Most work happens remotely via video call, with solutions you can access from anywhere.
How is this different from hiring a marketing agency?
Agencies focus on ongoing campaigns: ads, content, social media. I focus on systems and strategy. We might build a dashboard that shows your agency's results more clearly. I'm often a complement to agency work, not a replacement.
